mass compo(g) 14.2 3.2
NO. of moles 14.2/35.5 3.2/16
= 0.4 = 0.2
Simplest ratio 2:1

Empirical Formula: Cl2O

1b) NO. of moles of Cl2O= 0.6x 10^23/6.0x10^23
= 0.1 mol
Molecular mass of compound = 17.4/0.1
=174

1c) Mr of empirical formula, Cl2O= 2(35.5)+16 =87
n= 174/87 = 2
molecular formula: Cl4O2

2a) Iodine Oxygen
mass compo(g) 50.8 16.8
No. of moles 50.8/127=0.4 16.8/16=1.05
